There are many things that I have said and done that I would do differently if I could go back and change them. Since that's not possible, I live with the memories, and in some cases guilt, and hope that I have learned from the past, and I won't make those mistakes again. I think before I speak, even in a disagreement. There are also things I didn't say or do that I wish I had. I make a concerted effort to be more thoughtful of others now. (Oh, I didn't commit any crimes, it's just the thoughtless things I did or didn't do or say that would have made things better for others, and ultimately, for myself.)

All the time, I can be extremely sarcastic and cynical, and if I don't take my time, and make assumptions, I can be very mean. In person and often on the phone, I'm usually pretty even tempered. But in emails and online, I don't suffer fools gladly. I wish I could take back quite a few of the things I did when I was young and foolish, but I can't. I have apologized for some of the things I did when I was young, but that doesn't make them go away. I'd never want to go back though, I'm very stubborn, and would probably make many of the same mistakes. Some of us have to learn the hard way.

Ahh, those are the ones that hurt the most... the things you said, or the things you did that you can never go back and put right because that other person involved has already left this world.

You're not alone. I don't think there can be any really decent people who haven't got a few of those things in their hearts and minds that just dig at them once in a while like a tiny little knife blade poking at a wound.

But, y'know something? I like to believe that those people, wherever they are now, already forgave us a long time ago and if there was some way they could whisper that in our ear, they would. We can't go back and change it, or pay it back. But we can "pay it forward" - like the title of that movie. There have to be some people out there somewhere wishing they could take back something they said to us, or did to us. We can always quietly, in our minds, forgive THEM.

I have felt sorry many times as to not ever do it again. I could not take what has been done back cause some of them are deceased but I did ask for forgiveness and started my life over. If my mother was alive I would spend lots of time with her too as well as other love ones.

As much as I am human, I am very sorry for things I said and done. That said, though, this is also part of being human. We all make mistakes. It is in our sincerities and the compassion of those we offend or affect by our actions and words that also indicate just how human others are. We obviously cannot change the past or take the edge off our words once their said or actions done. However, the ability to forgive indicates that we are a higher form of life. Ergo, to err is human - to forgive is divine.

Of course we all do that. The only thing we can do is start afresh each day and try to do better. It is truly the simple things in life that make it worth living. A smile, a hug, a simple hello, holding a door open for someone, saying thank you............it does not take much at all to bring happiness to someone else!

there are lots of things that I have said and or did that I wish I could take back. Now I just pray to the Lord for forgiveness and try not to do it again.

I have been sorry for some things that I have said in anger to someone else. You are always going to have times in your life where you go " shoulda- coulda-woulda" It is best to leave the past behind and not dwell on things you did.
