Sung by Stevie Wonder

The shadow of your smile when you are gone
Will color all my dreams and light the dawn
Look into my eyes, my love, and see
All the lovely things you are to me

Our wistful little star was far too high
A teardrop kissed your lips andd so did I
Now when I remember spring
All the joy that love can bring
I will be remembering
The Shadow of your smile

Tony Bennett!

"The Shadow of Your Smile", also known as Love Theme from 'The Sandpiper', is a popular song. The music was written by Johnny Mandel, the lyrics by Paul Francis Webster. The song was introduced in the 1965 movie The Sandpiper and became a minor hit for Tony Bennett. It won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year and the Academy Award for Best Original Song.

Well-known versions of the song were recorded by Barbra Streisand (on her 1965 album My Name Is Barbra), Shirley Bassey, Perry Como and Frank Sinatra. It is also the album title from Astrud Gilberto. Connie Francis recorded the song in English, Spanish (La sombra de tú sonrisa), and in Italian (Castelli di sabbia). Lill Lindfors recorded it in Swedish as Din skugga stanna kvar. Marvin Gaye recorded several versions of the song.

The Shadow Of Your Smile. has been covered by several artists, the best one for me was Steve Lawrence in the 50,s
Matt Monroe did a good version and Frank Sinatra,
i think Tony Bennet drags it out too much
