NO. Why would you sing about how you want to be a rock star in country music? There is a country song, though, about how someone wants to be famous. The Nickelback voice style is not country. The grunts and groans in "Hey hey I wanna be a rock star" sound wrong.

I figure by the name it would tell you the genre.
But no Chad Kroger and Nickelback have always been more of a mainstream Rock group and "rockstar" is a slower rock song (and features blues rock legend Billy Gibbons of ZZTop in the song)

Nope, it's somewhere between rock and alternative. Sadly, it's also one of the band's few decent songs.
