I have an antique food grinder that has gotten rusty. How can I prepare it for use?

Take it apart and sand or wire brush off all the rust. A light coat of veg. oil may help prevent it from rusting again. good luck.

best bet is to take it some one that can do sand blasting,
by the way you can buy a new one, there not antique ,
crank type , rualking,harbor freight,
other wise you can contact metal poising from the rust if you don.t get it all off, then coat it with crisco,
