I got a 9 hour connection in Amsterdam Schiphol Airport which mean that I'll have between 3-5 hours in town. Any recommendations? Also, any good websites which can help me out with info and public transportation?

Use a good map, (the map in this link allows you to zoom in to a streetmap and to search by name or streetname, I am not sure whether it is printable.):
http://www.google.co.uk/maps?q=Amsterdam+(Noord-Holland),+Netherlands&sa=X&oi=map&ct=image

And use a site with much touristy info:
http://www.amsterdam.info/
http://www.amsterdamtourist.com/

This list has most or all museums with links to their own websites:
http://www.amsterdam.info/museums/
each individual website will have travel info, mostly tram or bus lines and the name of the stop.

If you want to have an overview of the town without having to walk try a canal tour, they all seem to leave just outside the central station and most run for the same time for about the same price. I think it was one hour for the tour.
So if you do that you will not have much time left to go to a museum.

One word of warning, if you go to one of the coffee shops, you might have problems with security when coming back at the airport because your clothing will smell suspect.

For tram info:
http://www.gvb.nl/english/
Ask for a single ticket as you will only use the tram once or twice.
At the station ask for the right tram to where you want to go first, and ask the conductor or driver to tell you where to get of.
For getting back to the station, many stops now have the signs for the next tram and its destination.
CS normally denotes a tram to Centraal station where you catch the train back to the airport. There are more stations so do not catch a tram which says station with an other name too.
Ask as you get on!

The train runs 6 times per hour, takes about 20 minutes, and as said, costs 6.20 Euro for a return ticket if you buy if from the machine, (ticket window can cost you 50 cents more.)
The train station is in the main hall of the airport, ticket windows are visible when you are at the top of the stairs down to the platforms, you need a ticket before going down.

there is a trainstation at schiphol, whih will take you directly to amsterdam centre. about a 15 min ride i think. as for the website http://www.ns.nl/www.ns.nl/pdf/vertrekstaten/shl3.pdf has the traintimes. a return ticket costs 6 euros 20.

as for things to do, it dependson what you life. There are many museams, markets, and other interesting area's for tourists to visit. 'Het Rijksmuseum' 'The Ann Frank House' de beurs van berlage etc.

or you could do like most retard tourists, and go visit a coffyshop before speaning all your cash in the redlight district ^^
