There may still be hope for your phone. I've unfortunately had to test this process a few times).

Turn the phone off and do not try it until it's completely dry!

Take the rear cover off.

take the battery out.

Take the simm card out.

Dry with a towel and gently shake off any excess water.

Let it sit overnight to completely dry.

Once completely dry reassemble and give it a try.

this has worked for me a couple of times...hope you have good luck!

Remove the battery and use a hair dryer to dry it out as quickly as possible. if you can open the phone, it's better to do it that way. Do not put too close cuz you don't want to burn or melt any parts--then your problem will be worse. The faster it dries the least likely it is for the parts inside to rust and corrode.

Give it a few days--sometimes phones will begin to work again after drying out. However they may not work well or may not work for long. So be sure to get all your contacts out as soon as it comes on and start looking for a bargain on a new phone. I like ebay. The phones may be used but usually they work and you can get a warranty if you need it.

Also call your cell phone service provider or check your features on your cell phone plan to see if you have insurance. Perhaps you can get a replacement phone but you would have to pay a deductible--probably $50 or $75.

It depends on who you have service with and what kind of insurance you have. With some insurance it doesn't matter what you did to the phone, they will replace it - though you may need to pay a deductible. Some insurance will not cover liquid damage. If you have insurance, check and see what is covered. Some carriers will also replace your phone, you'd have to check with your carrier.

Liquids don't always ruin a phone either. You may be able to let it dry out for a few days and it'll work. Whatever you do - don't put it in the dryer. Heat will probably destroy the phone, battery, or both.

Good luck!

If it's been awhile, this might not work, but it's a surefire way to fix it if it's still wet. Fill a bowl or glass with 87% or higher proof of rubbing alcohol (isopropynol). Drop the phone into the rubbing alcohol and let it soak for around ten minutes. Take it out of the alcohol and take it apart (cover and battery). Set it in front of a fan to help dry it out. The alcohol draws the water to it (miscibility) and then drys out. Additionally, the alcohol kills the bacteria and junk in the water, which is what actually damages the phone.

Like I said, this definitely works if the phone had just been dropped in water, but it way still be worth a shot. Otherwise, you might be out of luck. Sorry.

You should have taken the phones battery out immediately, you should have let the phone dry completely for like about 2 weeks to completely dry. Then you should of tried to turn it on and see if it still worked. But chances are if you didnt know what to do immediately the battery might have shorted out the phone by now and you need to get a new phone, Sorry.

I doubt it's working so...
I'd say wait a couple of days to see if it dries out and will work for you. It probably won't though so...
There should be a little white dot where the battery goes except yours will probably be red because you got it wet. When you send your phone in to get a new one they check that first to see if you got it wet and if you did then it's not covered even if you have insurance.
If you do have insurance call in and tell them it was stolen and they'll send you a new one and if you go into the store (verizon, t-mobile, etc) they'll transfer all your information to your new phone.
If you don't have insurance you'll probably have to buy a whole new phone. Talk to the store about it.

This is how I saved mine after I dropped it in the hot tub.

Don't touch it. Remove the battery. Put it under a heat lamp for a VERY long time (maybe 1-4 hours). After a few days, try putting the battery in and starting it up.

I had a Samsung a670 or something, and, as stated, it fell in the hot tub. Fortunately, we had one of those red-heat lamps in our bathroom, so I towered tons of random things (including the toliet plunger, laundry basket and God knows what else) so that it was directly under the lamp.

Worked like a charm... until a 1 year old threw it into a book shelf........ for that, I recommend tossing it around a dozen times.. Then it worked again!

If you use some of the methods mentioned by the other answerers to dry it out, it may work for a while, but eventually it will probably quit working due to corrosion from the wiring getting wet. At least it would give you a chance to rescue your phone numbers and such.

Go buy a new phone.

First turn it off! Then you have to let it dry. I suggest that you take apart as much as you can and just lay it out. Wait a couple of days and put it back together and see if it works. If it doesn't then you cant fix t you need a new phone D=.

Try to dry it with a blow dryer, or put it in a bowl of dry, uncooked rice (hard rice will absorb the moisture). Take out the battery too, so it dries!

It may take a couple days to dry out completely and start working again. Or, it may be ruined for good!
