Is it when you open the door, or when you unlock it. If you turn the key to the unlock position and hold it there, all windows will open. On the M3, that only means the two door windows and the two little vent windows in back if it's not a convertible. If you have a sunroof that will also open. Is that what you mean?

I don't know if you have a convertible or not.
My BMW 3 series convertible automatically lowers the window of the door I open. It goes down about 1/4 inch.
Once the door is shut, it goes back up.
This is done purposefully to ensure a tight seal during inclement weather.

If it has the SMG then it does not have a grasp, and its accepted as a "manumatic" transmission. yet yea I advise the M3 is extremely an indignant vehicle and the engine revs are INSANE, so this is enormously complicated to get the carry of in the beginning up, extraordinarily if that's your first time utilizing a handbook. My previous '05 M3 became the 1st handbook vehicle that I owned and had to tension on a daily foundation, and that i had extremely some adventure utilizing manuals earlier, yet even I had extremely some subject with the grasp in the beginning up, extraordinarily with the lurching and rolling, I even stalled some cases! It takes extremely some prepare to tension any handbook, even nevertheless it takes much extra to be suitable at utilizing this one. you could pass to any close by utilizing college and that they could desire to have classes on handbook autos, you will get the carry of it is going to easily

They're supposed to roll down a little bit when you open the door, so that it's easier on the weather stripping when you close it (and then it automatically rolls back up). The cut off switch for that function probably broke. Go to
www.bimmerforums.com
and see if they can diagnose your problem, and save you some money.

Is it coming down 1/4 of an inch or completely down.
1/4 of an inch is the makers design.
If coming down completely, then is the wire short circuit or the relay faulty.
Just take to the dealers and it will be fixed with low cost and warranty.
Unqualified electrical auto shops may mess up the system.
take care.
