what is the best brand for a computer if i want to use it for school work and some gaming. Preferably in a range beneath $1500

Almost any mid range brand name computer with an upgraded Graphics Card.
Check the specs of the game(s) you wish to play.
You can purchase a reasonably good Desktop for around 850 to 1000 dollars. Spend the extra on a good graphics Card..
Make sure the Graphics Card is compatible with the Operating system and the game(s).

It saves money AND you actually know whats on it.
If not, then I would suggest HP.
Even though they but a bit of stuff on your computer, they partion it so that you can recover without the use of a CD.
My a1268c is still working after a year NO problems with it.

Dell. Reliable and a decent price and you can customize them as you order. You would get a great machine for less than $1000.

i would suggest a Sony hp is also good. the only company i would not suggest is dell. I have only had problem after problem so have my friends so good luck with your purchase
