For those of you skateboarders... does the skateboard brand effect the strength of the decks they make? cause i asked my friend if my boyfriend liked flip skateboard decks, and he said maybe. last time he had one he snapped it in one day. Meaning what? Flip decks are crap? He said my boyfriend likes darkstar? any difference? The decks are 7.5s

Wondered the same myself, cause i seem to break a board a week (no lie). I asked the guy who manages the Endless Grind store in my neighborhood and he said that most boards are all made of the same cherry oak wood. He said that like everything its how its hit that could cause cracks that lead to breaks. Ive broken everything from Zero, Elements, ZOO York, Darkstar, etc... If you're an avid skateboarder your going to break plenty of boards, just comes with skating. If you see someone who says they skate all the time but they have had the same board for months even a year , thats a clue he/she hardly ever skates or doesnt really do anything but roll around on it.

Flip Decks do suck by the way.

Is there a difference? hm....... Well it depends on your style and how you use it. if he breaks decks like that though he should go with a cheaper deck. I personally like Zero and Element decks. They don't get damaged as easily.

yeah it might make a difference, but your boyfriend and you, a girl, have different strengths. My friend..he can break them everyday with his tricks, but me on the other hand doesn't do crazy tricks to snap them.
