Clearly we are ready. Her amazing ascent in the polls indicates that people are finally starting to get over the fact that she's a woman and are actually starting to listen to her. When a woman can stand on a debate stage with 6 or 7 powerful men, win that debate, and maintain a demeanor that is very Presidential all at the same time, I'd say we're far on our way to beginning to understand we can throw that stereotyping right out the window. We're getting used to women in power. We've got 90 women sitting in Congress and one of them is two heartbeats away from the Presidency. Many other powerful countries have already had and currently have women heads of state. The rest of the world is used to it, it is the United States that has to get over the idea that only a white male can sit in the Oval Office.

I think we're well on our way. She will likely be the nominee and she has a very good chance to be our next President.

EDIT: In response to your add'l details:
You aren't going to find a lot of Clinton fans on this site. There are a few of us, but not many. The main reason is that Clinton appeals to folks who are more moderate in general. The far left prefers Obama, and the far right hates her without reservation. Since this site tends to attract more extremists than middle of the roaders it isn't going to reflect the same as her national polling.

I only want Obama to run only to work out each and every of the racism effervescent below usa to upward push to the outdoors. i think of if the two Obama or Hillary get the nomination or, worse, an Clinton/Obama fee ticket will determine yet another 4 years of republicans interior the white abode. pookie George Bush is all White and he isn't practically to boot-spoken as Obama. It would desire to be the black 0.5 that makes him so soft.

Well, the question is not "Is the United states ready for a female president?", it is "which candidate best suites the needs of this country. The Unites States would crumble if Clinton became president, but would prosper if Rice did. (Yes, I am aware that she is not running.)

We've been 'ready' since the 70s, the two major parties just haven't had the guts to put up a serious female candidate until now.

It may just be my opinion, but I'm not one to believe that any "liberals" OR "conservatives" really exist anymore.

I share with you grasshopper:

Remember when you were a little kid and that one time, you were in the sandbox, there with your favorite toy, and that big bully came up and took it from you.

He put the toy behind his back, and said: "Guess which hand it's in, and I'll give it back."

No matter which hand you picked, left or right, he always pulled out and empty hand...bye bye toy!

We're done the same way with all of our civic freedoms, liberties, rights...

No matter which party we pick. "Left" or "Right."

Instead of giving our liberties and freedoms back, they only pull out a new tax, fee, surcharge, or restriction of some small, insignificant, thing, that just adds yet another straw on the camels back.

DO WE REALLY NEED TO ELECT ANOTHER LAWYER?

I tell you this because I, truly, as your Fellow American, love you all.

No, I think having a male in charge is much better, especially with the title of Commander-In-Chief, and especially in this time of war.
