Nothing is free on this world.
The question is: Do you really care for the people that are suffering in other parts of the planet? The true answers is NO.
The human society is selfish in general. Is a tragedy.

I most heartily agree. Individual freedom is always in question without the value of universal freedom.

Freedom is not a feeling or a subjective value, freedom is an inalienable right.

Being in slavery does not stop one from being free. Try reading Marcus Aurelius. Yet the statement is correct. Since we are One, all freedom or lack of it is a part of us.

Freedom is relative to how much one cares. A person sentenced to time in jail is still free if that person doesn't care. A completely free person may feel imprisoned by a concept in the mind. So if your "fellow man" is suffering or in slaved, and you simply don't care, then I would guess there is nothing there to stop you from feeling totally free and happy.

Hmmm. Depends what you mean by freedom. I think that man is pretty much totaly free. They just can't go against the laws of the universe (laws of physics) and take the effects of their actions (legal punishments included). Also one freedom can be impeded by force from something else (like if someone locked you in a steel room so you can't get out). In other words, it has to be in your ability.

That's the whole premise of the Iraq war, isn't it??? And it was also the mission in Vietnam--to end Communism, and instill Democracy to all.

True, perhaps. And, if so, can we be truly satisfied while 30,000 children die every day from hunger and hunger related illness?

unfortunately your optimism is ineffectual. There's always going to be quite a bit of haves and have nots.
