it was funny.
If you use Bush as the target for political satire, however, you're a socialist. Is GWB a sacred cow or something?
What's up with that?

I think the satire of Clinton was a little more 'gentle,' while that of Dubya is more biting. It's probably in large part because of the issues involved. Clinton was recieving illicit sex acts and lying about it under oath, Bush was invading other countries and abridging civil rights. That's a little more serious and more devisive, it invites more strident commentary, and more viscious satire. But, it also means that defenders of the president will take greater exception to that criticism and satire.

GWB has , as far as the press goes, an even thicker Teflon coating than Ronald Reagan had. Remember how quickly they jumped on his invade Iraq campaign?

The list is too long but we all know he is a prime target for satire and if you look in the right places you will find plenty of satirical comments on GWB, or the Smirking Chimp as he is often identified.

Because people though just because you were the president you could never do anything bad they caught somebody and they made such a big deal about it. Its his private life. Bush on the other had get made fun of a lot and well not for his private life. He is not a very smart man and I don't belive you got through Yale on his own. Someone needs to talk about Bush what happened to Clinton a very bright man also an amazing public specker is in the past Bush is in the future and we need to watch what he is doing. Clinton didn't destroy a contry Bush did we need to watch has Bush's mistakes make the generation of presidents job a lot harder.

The people accusing others of being socialists in America have no idea what socialism is and it doesn't surprise me at all they lack a sense of humor. It's common for the far right to not accept political satire, call it treason and to suppress it in the name of patriotism.
Bush isn't sacred at all.His administration has always depended on lies and that makes humor dangerous.
"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State."

My Thank You Letter To The Head Of The Clinton Crime Family, Slick Willy. 1. Thank you for introducing us to Jennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky, Dolly Kyle Browning, Kathleen Willey, and Juanita Broaddrick. Are there any others that we should know about? 2. Thank you for teaching my 8 year old about oral sex. I had really planned to wait until they were about 10 or so to discuss it with them, but now they know more about it than I did as a senior in college. 3. Thank you for showing us that sexual harassment in the work place (especially the White House) and on the job is OK, and all you have to know is what the meaning of "IS" is. It really is great to know that certain sexual acts are not sex and one person may have sex while the other one involved does NOT have sex. 4. Thank you for reintroducing the concept of impeachment to a new generation and demonstrating that the ridiculous plot of the movie "Wag The Dog" could be plausible after all. 5. Thanks for making Jimmy Carter look competent, Gerald Ford look graceful, Richard Nixon look honest, Lyndon Johnson look truthful, and John Kennedy look moral. 6. Thank you for the 72 House and Senate witnesses who have pled the 5th Amendment and 17 witnesses who have fled the country to avoid testifying about Democrat campaign fund raising. 7. Thank you for the 19 charges, 8 convictions, and 4 imprisonments from the Whitewater "mess" and the 55 criminal charges and 32 criminal convictions (so far) in the other "Clinton" scandals. 8. Thanks also for reducing our military by half, "gutting" much of our foreign policy, and flying all over the world on "vacations" carefully disguised as necessary trips. Please give my regards to Hillary, when/if you see her. Tell her I'm working on a "Thank You" letter for her, too.

A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side." Aristotle - 343 B.C.
that's Aristotle via Ervin Parker in a post some time ago.

GWB at first you couldn't crack on him because hes so stupid. It was an insult to the uneducated masses that elected the idiot leader.

I have enjoyed a lot of skits about Dubya. Certainly there's much to make fun of. What I dislike is the constant unfounded droning of Democrats calling him a liar. That's not satire, its not funny, and its not helpful.

Clinton is a sleaze ball and deserves any and all criticism. Mr. Bush is a good man. He has done a good job. Criticism against him has been way too hostile.
