Absolutely. "Cruelty to animals" means causing excessive or unnecessary suffering to them. Killing an animal, in and of itself, does not constitute cruelty. Hey, we put criminals to death and that's not considered cruel either, under the law. Just don't listen to anything those idiot "PETAphiles" tell you, they hate humans far more than they love animals.

cruelty denies something pleasure that it would otherwise have.

presumably, tuna have some sort of well being. without it, they would not be survival machines, they would simply be killed and eaten. pleasure in living is what gives us the instinct to survive.

so like i said earlier. if the fish were already dead? yes, you could take pleasure in it without any kind of animal cruelty.

if you have to kill the fish? then you're committing cruelty to an animal.

personally, i think that shows how cruelty to animals is sometimes ok.

Yes, I am very big on animal rights but I also eat meat. I was a lacto-vegetarian for about 6 months and I became EXTREMELY malnourished. I realise the value that animals play in each other's survival, but that does not mean we must be cruel to animals.

Of course. Cruelty is causing unnecessary harm. Killing animals for food is necessary. Torturing that animal before you kill it, like McDonald's and KFC does, is cruel and unnecessary.

Enjoy your tuna. People have teeth for a reason.

how does a tuna fish sandwich and animal cruelty go together to start with. i for one love tuna fish sandwiches, and don't think you should go around kicking cats even though i don't like them.

Yes, tuna is good for you. Just don't waste it or the poor fish died in vain.

Always have a heart for the animals, they are here for a reason.
