Of course, just like a man can be friends with a woman and black man can be friends with a white man. I don't see what the big deal is here. If you're straight and he's gay, then you'll only ever be friends and nothing else.

Our old neighbors were a gay couple and good friends with my parents :)

Of course it can and does. I am gay, and thankfully have many close wonderful male friends that are perfectly straight as an arrow. Real true friends that are always there for me and I am aways there for them.

In some cases we tell each other things that we we would never share with anyone else.

you see there is no threat between the two. It is physically impossible for a straight guy to have sex with a gay guy. It just can;t happen, and vice versa. (no erection no climax) Get it?

Besides, contrary to what you may have heard, homosexuality is not "catchy' It is not a communicable disease; it doesn't rub off, as it were. You were born straight, your potential friend was born gay. That's the only difference.

A loving close FRIENDSHIP is a priceless gift. And a benefit to both parties.

...Probably Not .......If you are the 28 year old guy , and gay , there is a certain degree of a Crush going on here and you may have a hard time keeping this relationship at a level the straight man will be comfortable with ....When a person responds to some one out of their age group its because they see in that person qualities they wished they had in themselves ...or... they feel that person is going to be the answer to what they need to be happy ..... But it is usually not a pure friendship because there is not enough common and shared experiences that equals require ....He will eventually realize you are trying to be his clone ..or ...he will eventually realize you have needs you want satified by him that he will not be comfortable about ...

I'm 46 and gay and have a good friend (straight) who's 28 or so. He has been around gays all of his life so he has no hangups, but he also has no attraction to men, either. It's actually really nice to be able to talk to someone who just doesn't care. He can talk about women, and I can talk about men, and we both laugh at each other's troubles with'em.

It can work out regardless of age, darlin'. One of my best friends is a HOT HOT HOT cop, totally straight. We talk about sex, girls, guys, everything. My sexuality means nothing to him, and other than the casual observation that he's built like a brick ****house there's no thoughts of taking it farther on my part either.

It's all in who you befriend. If you're willing on either side, it's easy! :)

I mean why not!
Anybody can be friend with anybody, who know maybe might form a serious relationship. It will be, if two person have a strong chemistry.
