My tomatoes are are growing like weeds this year but every time I go to pick a red one I find that something has beaten me to it. Only the red, and in fact ALL of the red, every single one,(not green), and always at the bottom center do I find that there is some rotting going on. All green ones are perfect with no sign of any adverse problems. I have never seen this so consistently before, does any one know what is going on?

If you're in an area that has had a lot of rain, then it's very likely to be potato blight. I know that sounds daft, but it affects tomatoes too.

If it is blight, the leaves will have been affected first, starting with brown patches on the edges and then spreading to kill the whole leaf. There's nothing much you can do, if your plants are affected, other than burn the affected leaves and fruit, or at least dispose of them in such a way that the spores can't spread.

The other possibility is blossom end rot, which is caused by insufficient watering.

Sounds like Blossom end Rot (sometimes called black bottom rot). It is caused by watering deficiencies (too much or too little) and also a lack of calcium in the soil. There is no saving the red ones but you can help the green ones by adding calcium and a watering schedule.

Are your tomatoes on the Ground? Or are they sitting on the soil?
I had a big problem with that few years ago. Try getting your tomatoes off of the ground. It is most likely because of way to much watering or not enough watering. Look to see if you have a lot of little fruit flys is what i call them. If so then it is because of too much watering.
