Because they are stupid and dont know that Tim McCarver made the last out of the 1968 World Series by popping out to Bill Freehan (after st louis was up 3 games to 1).

All part of the corporate quest to make people even dumber. McCarver's rare combination of whiny vocal tone AND demonstrably insipid banter can melt the braincells of even the most stout-hearted, intelligent fans.
With football, Fox doesn't have to try, the audience already embraces the concept.

Lucky you. I live around Illinois. I haven't seen the Yankees or Tigers in a regular season in 2 years. I'd give anything for baseball game selection to be arbitrary just one weekend a year.
