Probably because a lot of businesses are closed on the weekends, making it easier for deliveries to made more expeditiously. -RKO- 08/18/07

Where do you live? My mail comes later all the time. It is later on Saturdays than during the week.

The mail is delivered at the same time every day. The clocks run slower on the week-ends thus making it appear that the mail is getting here sooner.

A guess - most businesses are closed, therefore the staff can sort and sent out the residential mail faster.

They work reduced hours and sort less mail. The volume is less so deliveries go much quicker.
