For the past 5 days I have been experiencing symptoms of feeling faint, extremely dizzy (as if I'm drunk) and constant nausea. My period was due yesterday but it didn't come. As I was panicking a bit, I took a pregnancy test immediately. The result was negative. I saw the doctor today who said I could be feeling this way due to vertigo (?!). He took my word for it that I was not pregnant due to my negative result and did not re-test me. Is there any chance I could still be pregnant despite the result and is it worth re-testing?

It's possible to get a negative result even if you are pregnant, however with the exception of nausea, your symptoms are certainly not common pregnancy symptoms.
The doctor probably took your word for it because he did not think that your ailments were related to pregnancy. If he was suspicious of this, he would have ordered a blood test for pregnancy.

You can't rely on negative tests!!! I had 4 negative tests before i got a positive one and by then i was 11 + 4 weeks pregnant!!!! Some people always get negative urine tests even though they are obviously pregnant!!! All i can suggest is that you retest and perhaps go back to docs and request a blood test if your period still doesn't arrive

You could still be pregnant, but if you've been stressing badly over the past while - you could have missed your period from stress. I missed my period for five months from stressing when I first started high school. I would wait a bit and retest. I missed my period and my result was negative until a couple weeks later and it was postive. I took two that time and they were both positive. There is a chance you're still pregnant.

yup...home pregnancy tests are not always accurate. When i thought i was pregnant i took a pregnancy test and it came out negative but then i kept feeling sick so i took one a week later and i came out positive and now i have a baby girl.

your doctor should of told you to go back every week if you still haven't come on. they are a number of things why woman don't come on why they are late but he or she should of told you to go back every week until you have come on as the same for me i haven't come on since 6 may and i went back to my doctors and they took a pregnant test and that came back negative and they give me tablets to come on and it still haven't worked so now they have took blood out of me and i have to wait and see how that comes back but my doctor felt my tummy and she said that she is 60% that i am. So keep going back every week that you dont come on

if u tuk a test n it came out negative then u deffo aint pregnant so i fink u need 2 go 2 the doctors so they can tell u wot is exactly rong x

if your period doesn't come in the next couple of days then take another test!
negative teats can be wrong, positive tests are never wrong!

it's too early to tell. it could be just stress that is causing all this. do not have sex if you don't want to risk getting pregnant.
