On some wireless routers, there is the ability to Turn Off the SSID broadcast.
You should still set the encryption to wpa-psk and select a very good password.
One way to set a very long password and never have to worry about forgetting it is too use TWO simple passwords and merge them like this:
Your birth date: 1985 05 28 (year month day)
The city you like the best: New York City
Password = n1e9w8y5o0r5k2c8ity
Nobody will hack that password.

Just make sure that you have encryption set on it and that the key contains a mixture of letters and numbers, not real words.

This in all probability would not have something to do with human beings "tapping" into your community, yet quite immediate interference. you do not with the aid of twist of destiny have 2.4 GHz telephones do you? those would reason flaky immediate connections, because of the fact they are able to overlap the immediate indicators. 5.8GHz or 900MHz telephones won't reason interference.

You could call it, FBI.
You could call it, PoliceDepartment.
You could call it, Connect&Die.
People will still connect to it.
Of course, you could always just select the option to encrypt with WAP and forget about people connecting to it.

The best thing to do is setup your security with a strong key, make it impossible for them to connect.
