My ryukin adores peas, and I love giving him them but I dont know how often I should give him treats. I dont want him to become overweight or have nothing but "snack" food. How often can I give him special food and treats (tubifex worms, romaine lettuce, peas, cucumber...etc..) and what sorts of foods to fantails usually like...no "junkfood" plz:)

Peas are excellent but you also have to feed other foods for a good healthy body.
What to Feed:
* Hikari Fancy Goldfish Pellets
* Tetra Fancy Goldfish Pellets
* Spirulina Pellets
Some good supplements are brine shrimp, tubifex worms, frozen bloodworms, and even a group or two of live plants. Be sure to carefully observe feeding and remove any extra food after 5 minutes.
Feeding: Feed goldfish twice a day. (Once a day is all right every once in a while.) Goldfish like to feed from the middle and bottom.
You can also feed lettuce, spinach, and cucumber and other fresh veggies.

Hey Kii,

Peas are actually what you would use in treating constipation and swimbladder disease anyway, so it's definately not bad for him

Try to switch up his diet with flake food and pellets

Hope that helps
Good luck
