Well, not really. The "proms" are English and always have been.
Trick or treat is only an Americanised celebration of Halloween.
However, due to TV/satellite/video, all things American pervade the fabric of the World. Nuke the bastards, now!

We have been 'americanised' since the end of the second world war! Just like Japan.
The influence is purely economic. In the next 50 years, Europe will adapt to Indian and chinese cultural symbols.
It's all about money. Chill.

Buckle Up, the whole world is becoming Americanised. Any tradition or event that people, businesses or huge corporations can make money on will be pushed down your throat until you just accept them.

britain has only become americanised in some respects....while re-taining its own identity. And trick or treat is not american.....it began in Scotland and originally was called guising.

Definately, look at all the American stuff on TV and in the stores. I am Canadian and I hate how much American stuff we have here. You can't even shop at a Canadian store anymore, all the big stores are American now. Even the RCMP symbol is owned by americans.
