If someone says they're depressed or feeling down, why is everyone so quick to tell them to take mind altering drugs?

I agree completely. While I do feel that medications have their place for some people, I don't think that someone can determine after a 30 minute consultation that a person needs to be taking mind altering drugs. Brain chemistry is a tricky thing, and depression is a very real thing. That doesn't mean drugs are the only way to deal with it.

You know, you're kinda right. I don't see the point of taking drugs when your feeling depressed, it happens to everybody, but it goes away, right? Some people in this world are retarded. >.>

Excellent point Mr. Doe. They did just fine in the 1800's without all the chemicals we take today. Now I need to go so I can go take my Lunesta to fall asleep.

Why do they want to change me with drugs? I'm a normal person and I like little girls.

Well, most people try to escape their problems rather than try to deal with them. Its easier that way, yet it isn't a cure..only masks the symptoms. However, drugs are usually better than getting drunk all the time.
