I will moving to Cherokee, North Carolina, next week and will be living there by myself for a month. I have never been down there before. Any fun ideas you can recommend? Thanks!

There's some fun rafting on the Nantahala (probably spelled it wrong) River near Bryson City. The best thing about the Smoky Mountains is the mountains, so forget the tack commercial stuff (with which Cherokee is filled) and go out and horseback ride with a local stable, go hiking, go enjoy the native wildlife, etc.

That being said, if Unto these Hills is still playing (and it won't for long), go see it. I've heard the Cherokee Indian Village is good too.

Gatlinburg has an aquarium, tons of shops, and is close to the Smoky Mountains. Also, Dollywood is near as well as her Water Park if you don't mind doing those things alone- find a new friend and go!
