Yes. Both of my sons had erections just about every time I changed their diapers. It usually meant that they were about to urinate, I had to be quick to throw an extra diaper over them or they would pee in their own faces.

Wow! I'm shocked that he's 8 months and you're just discovering this. I have a 7 week old boy and he's already done it a few times. Just cover it fast or he will pee on you! I also have a 2 1/2 year old boy, and I can tell you from experience that when he gets older he will probably be very curious and want to play with it. Just ignore it and it will become less and less fascinating.

Yes they can as well, I have 3 sons and as babies before they would have to pee it would get hard. This is normal and I certainly wouldn't worry about it. Just watch out for some squirting if you pull back his diaper and it is sticking up! LOL

It's nothing abnormal....

He's the same as any other male. He's just responding to stimuli (cold temperature, a breeze, etc.). It's just like when you get a chill coming out of the shower.

The other alternative is that you're changing his diaper about 10 seconds too early. lol

Its normal, it happens at every age. Its just blood flow to the penis & some times the possibilty of needing to pee pee makes the penis erect. I have 4 boys and was worried about it the the first time, till my husband who studied premed, told me blood pools in the penis and it becomes erect. Often during sleep & when first waking up.

I was surprised to find that very same thing myself with my son, not having the equipment myself I had no idea. I have spoken to a few people I know with sons and all say the same thing as well.

Yes baby boys can have erections, my son had them when he was a baby, usually happens after they wake up. Don't worry it's normal.

I was wondering about that because my cousin had the same thing when I was changing him. He's a year and 3 months. I know mother nature is something you can't nesscarily change but that just seems wrong. lol

Yes, they can even get erections 'in utero' ... but don't think that he is 'turned on' because he has an erection ... it's the 'wiping up' you are doing that stimulates his blood system, which 'pools' in his penis and causes the erection. In other words, it's 'natural' ...

My son is a month old, and when I change him after he wakes up, he has a little soldier. My husband calls it 'morning wood.' I assume it is a natural thing.
