If the mucus turns yellow or green, then it is time to take him to the Doctor. (this is only if it is yellow and green all day, not just once in a while. Yellow and green means that there is a possible infection.

It is also advised not to give the baby any types of meidcations. What I did when my daughter was little, was squirt a saline solution up her nose, and use one of those little snot sucker to get all the junk out.

When my baby has a cold, I don't usually give her anything except Tylenol if she has a fever. A cold will generally go away on it's own. There is nothing they can give to make it go away, unless it is an infection of some sort. I would just use a vaporizer to help clear up any congestion, get a nasal aspirator, and some tylenol for fever. I hope he feels better soon.

first be sure it's a cold and nothing more...if he is due for a dr's visit, make the appointment and let them check it out...he could have allergies or something...you never know when dealing with babies because they can't tell you what is wrong...
