"life is a journey not a destination"<---- cliche' but true!
If you live in certain parts of the world being anything but straight comes with serious stigma.
It's a process and you WILL get through it. Just remain honest with yourself; talk to people who understand; and DON'T GIVE UP!
*hugs*

Actually it is quite easy. I am the way I am because of everything that has led up to this day. All the positives and the negatives make me the wonderful human being that I am today. All one has to do is realize that they are unique and that being like everyone else is not the goal in life. That living their life to the fullest is. To discard all the labels that society wants to put on you and be yourself. Accept that you will make mistakes. Everyone does and everyone is beautiful. Its only impossible when you buy into what others want you to be.

What do you like about yourself? What do others like about you? These are your strengths. Keep them.
What do you dislike about yourself? If you dislike these traits on your own, and not only because others are telling you that you should, then change them.
It will take a while to figure all this out. Counseling may help, but you have to do most of the work, to get to a place where you respect yourself. You're all you've got!

If you are having a hard time accepting yourself, maybe this is a good time to take a break, reflect on your life, review where you want to be in life 5 and 10 years from now, and make changes to your life.
Your life is not predetermined by your birth. Your self discipline can help you be anything you want to be in life.

I think accepting oneself is the easiest and most fundamental aspect of living. What hinders this acceptance is a culturally-bound idea or notion of what one should be. And I think this is really true for gays like me. Having brought up from a very conservative Catholic society, I was made to believe what I should be - but because through my experience, I saw otherwise - I became happier.
And I think you should as well.

Accepting myself was one of the hardest things I've ever done. One of my favorite quotes is, "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent" ~Eleanor Roosevelt. So although other people might not call be gay "acceptable" it is who you are and it's unchangable. So why not embrace it and make the best of it? You have so much to give to the world, don't hold back and love who you are!

Because we know that there is no choice involved here. Morality is strictly the sphere of choices. I did not choose to be gay. Being gay is not immoral. The choice of which man I sleep with and why is a moral choice. How responsibly I behave sexually is a moral choice. How I treat my friends and family are moral choices. Being gay is not a choice. Therefore, it is not a moral issue, any more than having hazel eyes is a moral choice - which I also did not make.

you already know what you are and how you are, thats is a big part of acceptance. Like I said before, seems like it is more fear of what others say and think about you than what you think of yourself.
if there are people that had accepted, who you are and what you are, feel happy about it. and take value on that.
If there are people that had not accepted you, and or make ugly remarks, give a **** about them. People like that are just narrow minded morons.
Like I had said before, no one matters, just you and what makes you happy, and if there is people that make you happy for who u r, then take refuge on them, it will make your spirits go up.

you have to like and respect yourself before you can accept youself. then it will all fall into place. it isn't impossible but some people do have to work harder at it than others.

First of all get rid of the guilt. Next spend as much time as you can with other people like you. Not for sex just as friends.
