What is the webhost, and how was the site constructed? For example, a site hosted at Tripod.com can be constructed using FTP or their sitebuilder tools. So you could just go to Tripod.com, sign in, and make your changes using their tools.
Or let's say it's hosted at any old place and you want to use FrontPage or Dreamweaver software that you have bought. You open your software and import the website into your home computer, page by page. Then you make your changes, and send it back out again according to the instructions that come with the software.
I think if you knew FTP or PHP, you wouldn't be asking this question so I won't bother to cover it.

We need a lot more information then that to help you...What website do you have, and what software is in installed? Do you have FTP access, or just a username and password to a forum or some CMS system? we need more info.
