TUSCALOOSA | Supporters of Congressman Ron Paul dominated the West Alabama Republican Assembly 2007 Presidential Preference Straw Poll held at the Bryant Conferent Center this afternoon.
Of the 266 votes casts during the poll, Paul claimed 216 of them, landing him an easy win.
At a distant second was Gov. Mitt Romney with 14 votes.

Definately. I'm a conservative, and what people don't realize about Ron Paul is that he is more of a paleoconservative than a libertarian. Neocons destroyed the country and the Conservative movement. Paleoconservatives like Ron Paul could save them. I would definately vote for Paul in 08, if I could (I'm not old enough).

The only thing good about him is that he is against the war in Iraq. Otherwise, he is pretty much a far-right lunatic like many of the other Republican candidates. He is not really a libertarian as many claim him to be, and seems to be very conservative on social issues. He claims to stand for the Constitution, but this is a lie. He is anti-choice and doesn't believe in separation of church and state. He thinks these issues should be regulated by by the states, not our federal judicial system and/or the Supreme Court.

Ron Paul is the best Candidate for America. He blurs the line between democrat and republican. Both sides can find something they passionately believe in.
"Speaking the Truth in times of universal deceit is a revolutionary act." -- George Orwell sums Paul up.
He wants to reduce spending of the federal government in order to balance the budget. Alarmingly no other candidate is concerned that our country is on the verge of bankruptcy.
He is the most conservative person on the Rep. party. Remember republicans are suppose to represent smaller gov. and small spending.
Most people who take time to hear him speak will convert. The problem is the media is blacking him out for various reasons.
I advise everyone to watch his interviews.
This is one where he went to Google HQ:

The Pennington Household stands four-square behind Dr. Paul; Who is also the first and only political Candidate I've ever stood behind.
I'm registered with "No Political Affiliation" myself.
It may just be my opinion, but I'm not one to believe that any "liberals" OR "conservatives" really exist anymore.
I share with you grasshopper:
Remember when you were a little kid and that one time, you were in the sandbox, there with your favorite toy, and that big bully came up and took it from you.
He put the toy behind his back, and said: "Guess which hand it's in, and I'll give it back."
No matter which hand you picked, left or right, he always pulled out and empty hand...bye bye toy!
We're done the same way with all of our civic freedoms, liberties, rights...
No matter which party we pick. "Left" or "Right."
Instead of giving our liberties and freedoms back, they only pull out a new tax, fee, surcharge, or restriction of some small, insignificant, thing, that just adds yet another straw on the camels back.
DO WE REALLY NEED TO ELECT ANOTHER LAWYER?
I recommend the doctor: http://www.ronpaul2008.com
I tell you this because I, truly, as your Fellow American, love you all.

I know that the Neo-Libs (term applies to the nasty liberals for those in Reo Linda) would love to see him as a third party candidate to split the republican party and put their queen in the white house. I would vote for him if I really thought he had a chance; problem is he is unknown and will likely remain that way unless the talk shows and Fox news gets into the R.Paul movement. I am sick of the parties too, but a Hilary win will kill our country and pave the road to socialism.

He's not a republican. He is creepy and so is his cult-like following. He has no executive or real leadership experience, and I can't wait till he's out of the race so I can drive down the street without having to see Ron Paul signs placed in random locations without permission.

yes, that he's the only constitutional candidate with a voting record to prove it. I would be proud to call him my president.
