This will clearly bring smiles to the faces of tyrannts and dictators the world over. Unfortunatley, Americas "allies" appear to be of a similiar mindset. Are the days of American aid, technology transfer, joint defense and alliances over? Europeans are hoping so. As are Kim Jong ill, Vladimir Putin, Hu Jinto, Ahmadenijad and Hugo Chavez. Its crazy that this has happened but what are we to do? I suppose its time for America to retreat. Shut the borders and all communication with the outside world and just let them have at it! We've got the nukes. We should threaten to us them if attacked by anyone and bring our soldiers home and close all of our overseas military bases. Let us give the world what it so desires...A quiet word of caution though...Be careful what you wish for.

At the outbreak of WWII, the US were doing the same thing. If they had given a firm statement and not stayed isolated, things whould maybe have stopped before it became a real WW.
Problem with the US is when they are "going in" they are looking to much thinking their point of vue as the only right one. Look at the Iraq, a lot of European friendly states told them what could happen, now a lot of US citizen are mad on the europeans. But what did happen ?
The US are now already isolated (in their way of thinking, their media) and this is the real danger. The american way of living is not the only one and this mentality let you loose a lot of friends.

America should pack it in. No one needs them because they are a paranoid nation. Consider this. A bunch of terrorists (I must point out that there have always been terrorists everywhere) - have made them send out an army of a million soldiers and tons of equipment and attacked the wrong country and have got tied down in the Arabian desert and the mountains of Afghanistan chasing Omar Mullah, a semi blind Mullah and OBL - both with a rag tag army with rusty AK47s - totalling no more than 500 men. No tanks, no planes and no armour.

Six years later the Americans are contemplating "DEFEAT". The whole nation is in denial and near total bankruptcy.

Housing markets and stock prices are collapsing daily such that the federal reserve is printing $s by the ton and propping up people left right and centre.

A president and cabal elected who cannot figure a way out and the population fed propaganda daily such that they know nothing of whats going on. JC matey!

Sliding? it is already isolationist. America has always been isolationist, just look at the last two European wars, took them 4 years to help and they are supposed to be our friends. Then after the war they help to rebuild Europe, with our money, while we in the UK have rationing for years while our government which has been bankrupted by having to buy over priced and useless old equipment from the states is trying to recover. With America as friends, politically, who needs enemies.

we are throwing money on the colleges as though merely money will sparkling up the subject. What`s mandatory is to get decrease back to fundamentals. First, get rid of the stupid political correctness, then placed self-discipline decrease back in the college room, and end stupid people from suing the college over each thing that they are in a position to think of up. 2d get rid of the ACLU who sue to make the minority the main extreme voice rather of maximum folk. third get rid of lots of the `` Adminitrators `` who consume up 0.5 of the shcool budget without producing any earnings.

The world would be grateful. Ever since the Soviet Union ceased to exist as a superpower, there has been nobody to keep America honest. The Iraq war is one result.

LET me start by saying i love America ( BRITISH).
However America is it,s own worst enemy. The American people are so insulated they have no idea of the outside world , much less care , unless it,s in their own intrests.
The American,s have fewer passports , per capita, then any other western country.
Democracy should be offered to people not forced upon them like communism.
But!!!!!.. I believe we have more incommon than we do have against .

I would say that America is one of the most isolated countries in the world and has been since 2003.

I don't know. Part of me wants to just leave the global stage - and let everybody know what kind of world they can expect without the USA. Some people seem to think it would be all popsicles in the summer-time but I think they would learn pretty quickly that the US does a lot more good, than bad.
