i'm 35 weeks pregnant, and last night i was getting horrible cramps, that have continued onto this afternoon. i have been getting some blood tinged cervical mucus as well. should i be worried?

I was hospitalized 2 weeks ago and im kind of worried. my cramps are so bad, it feels like im going to get my period or something.

does this mean im going to lose my mucus plug soon?

losing your mucus plug is not painful. It sounds like you are in prelabor-call your doctor and ask him/her what you should do-basically go to the ER!!!!!better safe than sorry

Cramping is very normal im almost 39 weeks pregnant, and have been having the cramps for about a month now, and a few days ago, i spotted blood, and ive already lost my mucus plug. Usually you bleed after you lose your mucus plug. Goodluck

Honey, that WAS your mucous plug! If you go to the hospital and get a shot of terbutaline, the cramps should stop and your mucous plug will keep trying to grow back and you'll be spotting like that until you have the baby, but GO NOW!

I think you should go in and be checked it sounds like you're starting labor. Sometimes the mucous plug doesn't come out until you start pushing so don't wait for that. I only saw my mucous plug once out of 3 pregnancies. Good luck and go in...

Not necessarily worried but do get to the hospital ASAP. Call your doctor as you get ready to go but go. You need to be seen. Without the spotting I would not be so sure but that is a sure sign that you need to be seen by a doctor.
Let us know what you find out! I for one do care and would love to know how you make out.

I would venture to guess that you have already lost your plug!
(although they can form back) I lost mine three times!
Anyway, I would go to the hosp if you are cramping (especially if it has been since last night!)
I would call you Dr. and see what they think!!
Also another thing they told me when I was prego was to soak int he tub for 30 mins and if that didn't help cramping pain to go to the HOSP!
So needless to say I think it is time to go to the Hosp, the worst they are going to do is send you home, and say it is nothing!
Good luck and keep us posted!

I agree, go to the hospital and get checked out. Being overly cautious is better than something terrible happening and feeling you could have helped.

What you describe sounds like the onset of labour and you should contact your doctor or midwife as soon as possible, as you need to be examined and monitored. Good luck.

It sounds like you're in labor. Even if it's just the beginning stages. I would start drinking water or gatorade (dehydration can start contractions) and call your doctor. Good Luck!!

Early labor may well be starting. Please contact your ob/gyn as soon as possible. Your mucus plug is most likely gone and you need to be preparing for labor to intensify.

Best of luck and blessings to you and your little one.
