It means whatever the Administration wants it to mean after their previously assigned meaning becomes meaningless.
First it was WMD's
Then it was spreading Democracy.
Then it was fight them there so we don't have to fight them here.
All of these reasons are, of course, BS, but there will always be gullible people who will drink the Kool-Aid. Oh well...I guess there is no cure for stupid.

Have at least 5 military bases permanently in Iraq with no complains from the Iraqi people. Have the Iraqi government do exactly as US say and the conversion of the Iraqi people to Christians. Oh yes and to have an understanding that the oil there is an unlimited supply to the US.

Sounds like someone doesn't have much of a grasp on reality. The term is essentially meaningless.
The job will never be "done".
At best, we can create a livable situation.
The only way to get the job DONE will be to eliminate terrorism and intolerance.
In the world of Islam, that MAY be IMPOSSIBLE.

Even Bush doesn't seem to know, or at least he's not saying. What he IS saying is that the troops will stay there until he's out of office. As usual, he's leaving it to someone else to sort out the mess he made.
I suspect he's secretly hoping the next President will be a Democrat so he can try to pin all of the blame on him or her, but even if the next President is a Republican it will relieve Bush of taking the responsibility for finishing what he started. I hope others are taking note as I am, because I don't think this is the kind of leadership we want for our country.

Put any kind of meaning on it you want. Bush and his bag of fools have never explained that one. I thought the job was done when they said Mission accomplished. If they mean training them to take over well that's another fine mess Bush and his gang have thought up. The more we train the more seem to be killing our soliders so that can't be what they mean by get the job done. Smoke and Mirrors to fool the public again.

This is in response to leave and let the Iraqis solve their own problems. The idea is that the USA should "get the job done" and not quit. We need to make sure that the Iraqi people are strong enough to defend and protect their own country. We do not want to leave and see Iraq fall into civil war and end up as another radical Islamist state.

No one really knows what it means. Bush keeps changing that definition--depose Saddam...no, wait, establish a democratic government...no, wait, make Baghdad "safe"...no, wait (and this is my favorite) “Success is a level of violence where the people feel comfortable about living their daily lives.”
