Happiness

Depends...how would I get that money? If I got that money through my own effort and my own work, then what's the difference? If I was just given a lot of money, I wouldn't be very happy. Happiness is what you make it. This question is far too vague. But, given the choice, if the money were not made from my own effort, I would choose happiness.

I would also like to add, to the grima queen, that making money of your own accord should never be the root of unhappiness. By making your own money, you are making your own way in the world, and being your own person, therefore, why shouldn't making money make you happy? Secondly, money doesn't make you miserable. Money is meant to make you happy. Without money, you would be unhappy, because you wouldn't be able to live as you want to. If you got the money unfairly, you would be unhappy because you would know that the money is not yours to spend on your happiness.

Having just read the biography of Howard Hughes, this is very simple. Hughes was worth more than 2 billion dollars when there were only 381 millionaries around. He could buy and sell virtually anything. He bought pollitians, controlled the fate of thousands of people, and yet he was insane.

He sat in filth covered in bedsores and had elaborate rituals to fend of terrors that only existed in his delusional mind. The money wasn't worth the lack of peace and happiness.

It isn't even close. Happiness, Happiness, Happiness.

It depends on how much happiness and how much money hehehe just kidding.

I'd take happiness over money anyday of my life but my ideal situation would be to have as much happiness as one deserves in a fairly righteous life with just the right amount amount of money I needed.

But that's because only one of my dreams involes money and that's only so I can give it to anyone who needs it, after my bare essentials came out first like food and a home, transport, and kids-ed and needs etc.

Happiness.

You can't have happiness without contentment, and if you are content with what you have, money doesn't mean so much.

Those answers that are trying to play the "middle ground" didn't read the question: The question was, "happiness or (lots) of money."

Happiness comes from the inside. Money from without.

Happiness - without a doubt

why do people want money? - to buy the things they think will make them happy! so if your are already happy you don't need the money....

indeed, often as not, it is money and the obtaining of it, which gives us the most unhappiness.....
