I know you're gonna bring up the 2004 play-offs but I am over that. Have the Red Sox fans forgiven Bill Buckner's, oh geez, I must have lost that grounder because of the sun & lose after they were one strike away. Is Bill Buckner allowed in Boston? I admit the Red Sox made history in 2004 & I give them their props but the until the Red Sox win, let's see, 20 more World Series, then they would be even with the Yankees so until then the Yankees will always be above the Red Sox

now all these imature little red sox fans get all offended, its kind of funny. they act like its no big deal that they are 20 world series behind the yankees, and they had to wait 87 years to win one. red sox suck! go yankees!

my grandpa says it sucked!

I only waited 27 years so that was easier... but that still sucked... Buckner was bad.. but the worst one by a mile was 2003 when the sox fought back twice and got to game 7 and were winning and Pedro was pitching a gem and the Yankees brought David Wells in and David Ortiz jacked the first pitch into the short porch and then Grady Little left Pedro in too long... that one was the worst... if the Red Sox didn't win that world series... I think I would have given it up because my nerves were too racked to continue any longer with that masochistic fandom...

Buckner.. well he was a hero in the California series... so yeah... he's cool.. it's the time and the 04 that cured those wounds.. but they still hurt... I still hate Calvin Schiraldi tho...

If by... Yankees be "above" the Red Sox you mean.. they will always be trashy lil' Gollams then yeah I'd agree with you... "my ring.. .me wants my precious..."

Yanks won five pennants while Teddy Ballgame was out fighting wars... they also had a trading deal with the KC Athletics where the bad yanks would go in lopsided trades... the "Black Sox" were poised to be the dominate team of the 20s until they were broken up and Harry "F* CK * N " Frazee who sold all the good Red Sox to the Yankees because he was a NY business man and a bad one at that.. not just the Babe... there were 8 world champs from the Red Sox on the Yankees by 1921... the Yankees are not above.. they have mystique and cash!

here's a book about it:

here's a book about it written by a Boston bum:

Yankees suck!
BTW... Buckner didn't loose it in the sun.. it was a NIGHT GAME!!!!!!

MORON YANKEES FANS KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BASEBALL!!!

Winning over 20 World Series doesn't make a team good. Also, the Yankees' payroll is so high that the luxary tax they pay is higher than the entire payroll of the Florida Marlins. In 2004, the Yankees had over $70,000,000 more than the Red Sox and that couldn't even win them a World Series! Yankee baseball has become about money and buying as many superstars as possible. Red Sox baseball is about... well, baseball!

I am on the same page as Red Sox Girl. You ask a question which in itself is wrong, then all of your comments have nothing to do with your question. We waited 86 yrs and it was a very hard wait. Bill Buckner has been avenged and we even can say the name of Bucky _______ Dent without cringing. If you want to talk smack about winning 20 more championships you go for it but what's the point? It has nothing to do with how good todays team is.

Being in second place is like sand in your teeth, isn't it? Can't bark about being in first; can't bark "1918" any more; can't hype Jeter for MVP (ARod's gonna get it)... you're just adrift in a crisis of faith, so let's SOMEHOW tease and taunt the Sox fen.

Well, not having a presumed-birthright championship during this entire millennium will do that to a fan.

Most of those 26 championships were well before you were born; it's like viewing them in a museum. Nice to see, glad they are there, but really very little impact on daily life.

This is really sad, little dude. Seek help.

I think you need to go back to grammar school.

Anyways, back to the question. Yes, some of us had to wait 86 years and most of us less. But, do you know what? At the end we won the series. So, if I were you I would just focus on your team and we will focus on ours. All that crap that you typed up are all old news.

Kind of like you waiting the last seven years. Time doesn't matter. Every year that you don't win, it sucks.
