No, not at all, because you can grope anything. If I am rock climbing, I can grope for a hand hold- not really that sexy. I can grope in the dark for my snooze button. To me it just means to reach and feel for something.

Grope means to feel around, like to grope around in the dark feeling for a door. It doesn't necessarily mean something bad, unless you use it to describe certain touching of body parts.
