It was in my office building. The warranty was just updated 2 days prior. I have the serial number and other related tracking info on hand. I am making a police report today. Can I be refunded for the warranty until it is recovered?

I assume you registered your computer with the manufacturer. If someone else tries to register that same computer it may alert the manufacturer. Contact the manufacturer to see if there are any resources they have for stolen property.
This happened where I am employed. They hit us twice. Take measures now to keep it from happenning again. Look for the obvious first. Windows not locked/wont lock, doors that can be forced open easily, consider getting a fence, GET CAMERAS, etc......

just get a new computer.. and maybe try locking hte doors when you leave
