We read that according to a family friend:

'Kate and Gerry take their parenting responsibilities very seriously and the top priority is that the twins have a normal life. They are very keen to protect their children...'

Do you take your parenting responsibilities as seriously as the McCanns ?

I take (or should I say "took") my responsibilities very seriously. We have been on holiday with other couples and always took turns looking after the children day and night. I have even been on holidays sometimes where I looked after other peoples' children who were around the same age as my kids. The only exception I can remember is once when we were meeting up for dinner in Mexico with old friends (who lived there). We asked the resort owner about babysitting, and they were only too happy to get their children's nanny to provide childcare as I had kept an eye on his children during the day while they swam in the kiddie pool. Of course, I have also babysat for the children of friends and relatives, and still do. My husband is also absolutely wonderful with children, although like so many other men is afraid to hold newborns!

The best holidays I have ever had were with our children - at the beach, at Disneyland - wherever they were enjoying themselves. I would not trade a single moment of building sandcastles with or watching larger than life Mickey Mouse entertain my children for all the money in the world.

They were careless, blase, neglectful of their childrens safety and Madeleine has paid the price. How those twins will accept this when they are older and realise, just what happened while Mummy & Daddy were out on the p*ss with their friends, even though the resort had requested they have a babysitter and Mummy & Daddy still refused and little Madeleine disappeared.
I find it insulting that the McCanns talk of any type of parental advice to anyone. They neglected their children time and time again, they should be investigated and dealt with accordingly, until then, they should keep their arrogant mouths shut.

The Mccann's get on my T1Ts, when did they take their parenting responsibilities seriously? I must have missed it, did i blink?
The more i hear about them, the more i wonder why they haven't been investigated for neglect.

If everyone took their parenting responsibilities as seriously as the MCANNS then we would have a world devoid of children

We would never have put our children in such a vulnerable situation. What the McCanns need to do now is to turn all their love and attention to caring for their other two children.
Leaving the experts to carry on with the enormous task of solving this tragedy. Or, they are in danger of neglect once again.

They must have struggled with this bit of advice

"A family friend said: “Kate and Gerry have been advised to be very open and to answer the twins’ questions very truthfully."

I think more so, I would never leave small children alone in a flat full stop. let alone on Holiday in another country.. taking your responsibilities means not leaving your children in a dangerous situation, this means 3 small tots on their own in an unfamiliar place or at home unsupervised is foolhardy and not what I would call takings ones responsibilities seriously.

Powerball, they weren't unlucky. They had a baby sitting service available and they didn't use it. Saying they thought it was safe is no excuse. No child left alone for that amount of time and at that distance is safe, and not necessarily from intruders.

Yes, I wouldn't leave my young children alone in a hotel room when we went for a meal. IF we did, we would of paid for a baby sitter.
