This sounds really bad, sounds like David Sterns worst nightmare. I'll always watch the NBA no matter what happens, I'm a basketball junkie and a NBA lifer, but if this is as bad as it looks, do you think fans will stop watching?

I love the game of basketball but have always questioned the integrity of many of the calls made by refs...I have been saying for years that some of those refs are dirty...David Stern can spin the story any way he wants to but this is not one isolated ref giving info regarding the games, players, etc, making bad calls, betting on games...I am not surprised that there are others...Didn't Mark Cuban and Jeff Van Gundy say this years ago and get fined for it? Hmmm...I think David Stern should give them back their fine money!

I have watched all these years and believed some refs were dirty so I'll still watch even though it's been proven...It will just annoy me even more when bad calls are made by these dirty refs...

As far as i've heard, the story about "as many as 20" other refs is unsubstantiated and came from a single radio station, albeit a big one -- ESPN 1050 in NYC. The story is also inconsistent with everything else i've heard about the case -- specifically, that Donaghy was a one-off participant in betting and not in cahoots with other refs or anybody else in the NBA.

I'm not at all sure that the 1050 story has any legs to it, but it might. I think most fans will let this play out for a while and see if it adds up to anything before they will stop watching.

I don't think it will be 20 but I read an article that said about 5 or 6 current refs are from the same high school and it wouldn't surprise me if more are found to be involved. It is hard to run a gambling ring with just 1 insider.

i think some nba fans will stop watching if more refs were involved. however, those refs (if they are still reffing) will of course, be fired. i'll always watch the games (when they're on ABC) no matter what. i heard to that tim donaghy is going to rat out on others refs. so i believe it is true.

i think there might be 4-5 other refs involved in the betting scandals but not 20 tim donaghy just wants all the attention of him and ratting out 20criminals who face the same charges as him(25years in prison and 500 000$fine is what i heard) will do just that

I'm with you my man, this will look pretty bad, especially if it is 20. But then again, like you, I love basketball and will continue to watch it. I hope everyone else that loves basketball will not stop watching it because of this unfortunate situation.

I personally will keep watching.

But I where I shrugged off some bad calls in the past, I will now second guess everything more than ever.
