It's so frustrating to ask a question, spend a lot of time on it, only to see some one ask the same thing and get all these ignorant answers, when you tried to fix this misconception earlier.
I asked what people thought of NHL Cheerleaders.
I spent hours finding out which teams had them and I posted links.
Obviously nobody bothered looking at them.
These people either say, "Oh it's just an American thing."
or "it's just a southern thing"
I have just spent a little time making a geocities page. It sucks but it is easier to read than posting all the team links on here.

The point of this question is to set the record straight about NHL cheerleaders and the teams who have them so people can stop being so arrogant.
The point is NOT to whine

Jenni,

Again,
I will say this is about the arrogance. I've read Canada is better than America, and North is better than south. That's what this is about.
Competition is great, but I'm sick of seeing "Oh the cheerleaders! it's just a southern thing"
just an american thing
Come on people

Look people,
Jenni decided she was going to be a smart a## little b!!ch, so I said something about it. She's more times than not a smart alec when she answers something.
Did you notice other people have disagreed with me before and I said nothing to them? Because they were respectful about it.
Jenni wasn't.

I’m going to take this backward.
“Duffman” – It’s not meaningless. Next time you purchase tickets and wonder about where your money is going – you will know. / Don’t ***** about the prices. / Personally, I don’t want my money going to this (cheerleaders) and I don’t think any REAL hockey fans need to be told when to cheer.
“Fugutastic” – What does the length of her question have to do with anything other than an attempt to explain herself better. / Some questions call for a long, detailed question. – Look at my last three questions. – And no one was disrespectful to me.
“Alletery” – you are stating the cheerleaders make the sport more inviting to women? // Maybe I live on a different planet than you? Cheerleaders cater to gawking men and pathetic dykes.
It does the opposite and groups the sport of hockey (not just the NHL) as just another male-dominated, small-penis-sport that does NOT invite women.
“Noah” – Rebecca stated that your answers don’t insult her. – Well they insult me. Some people DO care. – Speak for yourself.
“Iron_hawk29” – Sorry but most NHL teams have a cheerleading squad and guess who’s paying for it?
“The Caseman” – I don’t really understand the first part of your statement. Are you male or female?
Secondly – The sad part of what you are saying is that hockey (especially the NHL) should be different.
“Erica” – How is Rebecca’s willingness to stand up for what she believes-in a threat to anyone or in any-way a negative statement?
As Jenni’s defense-lawyer (lol) you should take into account that she was continuously called-on to put puck-bunnies in their places. – Rebecca pointed out that Jenny was just as bad as any puck bunny who ever posted here. – You cannot have it both ways. – That’s not saying she hasn’t learned and changed since then but Rebecca was simply pointing out that Jenni’s answer holds little respect (in her book) because of her past writings.
OK – So what?
“Jenni” – I disagree – I don’t think cheerleaders are good for the game.
You are right that you don’t have to explain yourself to anyone so why are you?
I believe Rebecca’s point was that your answers hold no respect (then she pointed out why) so…. , as you begin to state later, (in another post) the best thing to do is avoid her questions – unless you want to fan this flame… which seems to be what you’re doing.
One of the reasons I am responding now is because you drug me into this.
Text does not carry sarcasm nor humor unless you are an experienced writer. My advice (for what it’s worth) is to be careful with it.
“Like I'm Telling You Who I A” – I think you understand where she’s coming from.
To close – I think you are seeing a disappointment and frustration in the intelligence level of the people on the net and nothing more or less.

Hey, not sure if you want to use this, but here's the Pens ice girls patrol... people thingy:
http://penguins.nhl.com/team/app/?service=page&page=NHLPage&bcid=fan_delta
I'm reminded of how Jude asked a question about the NHL being fixed and the general opinion was one way... I asked basically the same question, but because there was a new article about possible evidence of fixing in a sport, and honestly... because I thought it was assinine that most people in Jude's question seemed to be agreeing with eachother, not putting too much thought into their answers. Then, what do you know---the general opinion on my question was the OTHER way.
Are people sheep or what? (NOTE: I'm not talking about EVERYONE who answered Jude's or my question...) Also, it seemed like some of the responses to Jude's question were the opposite of his opinion just because they have taken offense in the past to some of the things he's bluntly said. That's lame. It's sad to see that some people would not give their true opinions just because they don't like someone or whatever.

Personally, I have no issues with any sport using cheerleaders to make the game more enjoyable.
What I have a hard time understanding is how many guys complain that their girlfriends aren't interested in sports. When they show interest, they are labelled puck bunnies. The NHL is obviously trying to make it a more inclusive sport. Good for the teams it is working for!

In my opinion, I would say it has to do with space. If you notice when you enter any ice hockey arena, you'll find fairly narrow hallways, what cheerleader can do what they do with people walking by. I mean really if "they" (the powers that be) wanted it done, they would have you learn to ice skate and have you on the ice between whistles but even with that in mind, if you watch the game enough you'll find that there's not enough time to do what cheerleaders do between whistles. Another issue I would probably think is the financing of it. Ice hockey is one of the most expensive sports in North America. With the NHL in the shape that its in, do you really think any NHL team wants to pay cheerleaders? Please don't take my bluntness as rude but just in the reality of it all.

You seriously spent hours looking up which NHL teams have cheerleaders? Do you have a job? Just because you wasted your time on something meaningless doesn't mean we have to do the same to make you feel better.

I don't mind the cheerleaders too much. Its not like in the NFL where they dance on the field. All they do is hand out prizes and stuff and interview people. At least thats how they do it at Mellon Arena.

I share your pain.
I get sick of seeing people selected for best answers when other answers were correct, and the one chosen was wrong, or so obviouslyout of whack. (And I'm not talking about questions where I've answered - I see it on questions I don't answer but someone else has)
The other pet peeve I have is people who ask questions, and then let them sit and get voted on. If the question was THAT UNIMPORTANT in the first place...why ask it!

You didn't word your Q properly ie..such as do you think Alex or Sid would make a hot cheerleader? Or, who bangs the most cheerleaders? lol jk
Seriously, I think NHL cheerleaders are good for the game. If you don't like them, don't pay any attention to them. It's very simple.
* Yes, I clicked on all the links. I respect ppl , but I also reserve the right to disagree. I esp like the Power Players on the Ducks.
edit* and exactly wtf are you implying? Just b/c YOU don't like something doesn't make you Queen AND NOBODY ELSE CAN LIKE IT. I HAPPEN TO HAVE MET THESE WOMEN, AND THEY ARE ALL NICE PPL.. so please get over yourself. You really need to stop acting the pompous elitist know it all. It's not amusing in the least.
I enjoy the PP women b/c they do a lot of good for the community as well and forget it I don't have to explain myself to anybody.
edit* I'm not a hypocrite either Why do you even say that? hmmm? ohh big ******* deal omg 3 damn posts on hot players big ******* deal .It's not like it's the only thing I ever post. So ******* what?Do you want a medal now? I speak my mind. If you don't like it..tough If I repulse you should have the common sense to not be a jackhole and talk smack on a mb about w/e I like or don't like. It's a free country woman and I can like w/e I please. I swear you need a life if you get off by finding questions that I answer and questions I post FROM 4 MONTHS AGO! You just got the biggest Hoser Award in my book. for even posting that. esp the soccer one. whoop dee doo. wow one 'puck bunny question' in which I ddi point out hat I love the sport. Read the entire thing. jeez. one puck bunny post answered and a soccer post. wooooooww gooood for yoooouuu
ps don't expect any olive branch from me
*edit oh forgive me your majesty for disagreeing w/you!!! oh heavens what shall I do? I disagree w/the Queen of HockeyThreads. ohhh poor baaby can't take it when somebody disagrees w/her w/ some sarcasm thrown in the mix. Get a life! So I wasn't bowing down to you. I distinctly remember when both you and your husband jumped my butt in a question about calling someone a hoser and you both got your responses deleted ..lmao you've been a pill ever since. My response ont he dumb beotch who posted her bf doesn't like porn repulsed you..lol like I give a damn. I've been civil to you..until NOW..Your hubby has been civil so he's the mature one out of the 2 of you. The reason you single me out is b/c I don't kiss your butt and you can't handle it.

Firstly, I'd like to say beautiful, scantily clad girls make any event more enjoyable, especially those that go on in my bedroom (kidding). Secondly, ignorance is sadly everywhere...in abundance, so it really shouldn't surprise us to see so much of it on here.
