People still talk of racism here, but I really don't see it. Though I've only lived in California and now New England. Is the racism just in the middle of the country or what?

You must be ignoring it. And if you're white there's a high possibility that you have no clue. Cali is very diverse so you'll be a bit less likley to se it there.

But I think you know the answer to that.

i'm not, and i'm in the middle of the country....arkansas, actually, so you can't say we're all racist hicks here now. this one girl made me soooo mad once because she was checking out this african american guy and said he was hott, but then said she'd never date him because "it was wrong". i started to say something, but i was just a a loss for words, so i just stomped off...i have an african american friend and she's just the same as any other white, asian, puerterican, mexican, or native american friend i have (and i know at least one of each) racism is everywhere you go, they aren't just in one area...although, there aren't as many thank god.

and as a reply to that katrina t chick, i live in the south and there are just as many racists here as you will find in the north, east, west, or central parts. if you don't know, don't talk about it like you do know...

Racism exist in every corner of the globe and world. It may not be visibly displayed outwardly, but it exist.

It is generally caused by some one of another race causing hard feelings toward them and tends to spread like a wildfire. Will it ever go away or disappear? Not likely.

It definitely still exists and very strongly and openly in some places. You just have to put yourself in those places. Many of which aren't easily accessible from any major interstate and you probably won't be reading about them in the media. You may never experience it as long as you stay in places like California or New England.

Racism is still alive and well in many parts of the US. Maybe it's not as blatant as it was in the 1960's but oh yeah, it's here!

Go live in a small town in the deep south for a few years, and then get back to me.

Come to the south of USA. Then you'll see how bad it is in USA.

If someone sits back and sees racism going on and does nothing (which is what most whites do in USA) that makes them just as bad as the person who is a racist.

Heres my quote for you............

"If you condone racism, even if you aren't racist to people, that still makes you a racist." - KATRINA T
