I declare "National Me Appreciation Day." Find a day, or half day, in which I can just daff the world aside. In my particular case, that means warning people I won't be available and not to invite me to anything. Also it means:
1) Staying in bed. Literally. The day before I make sure the house is tidy and food prepared, so I don't have to go out or do anything.
2) A stack of good reading material and 2-3 favourite DVDs or CDs to hand and within reach of said bed (I have a TV in the bedroom).
3) Portable, special munchies for lunch that can be comfortably eaten in bed; fancy cold-cuts and special bread in a sandwich, say; ice-cold fruit; wine, or if I'm really feeling neglected and run-down, Spanish champagne. (Hey, I'm lying in bed, what odds if I get...mellow? LOL)
4) Phone set on answering machine, mobile turned off. I refuse to leave my comfy bed for anything or anyone, thank you.
I can now read, watch TV, snooze or eat as the mood strikes me. If by say 6 PM I'm feeling restless, I get up, have a nice shower and maybe go out for a walk or call a friend. Just having a "minivacation" can make all the difference in the world.
This may not be your idea of restful fun, but it might give you some good ideas. Enjoy.

I come here, because all it takes is a few keys and the enter button and I am in the zone!
Oh! And also a few clicks to send the answer. But Y!A makes me feel happy, when it's not full of trolls and clones. :)

Sing, play video games, watch tv, read fantasy novels...I mostly do things to take my mind off the real world for a while.

Nothing, just get on with things. Sooner or later the clouds will break and the sun will peek through, if only for a moment, y'know?
