That's what NASA gets for not supplying duct tape to the crew. I pray for them too.

I think they are probably making the right decision not do an on-orbit repair. NASA has always been best at making sure that they keep their jobs. Part of the fall-out from the other two disasters were all the top guys got fired. You can be sure that they know that a fatal accident this time will mean the absolute end of the Space Shuttle program.

I question this whole lame teacher in space P.R. thing. All I saw was the astronauts doing the same silly stuff in micro gravity and the kids giggling with glee.

Don't worry, they've made some computer simulations and the shuttle is in no danger. The heat they get on the belly where the gouge is situated is not that intense compared to the nose or wing edges for example.

Shuttles always suffers minor damage each time they launch, that one is minor, apparently shuttles have come back to earth with way more damage than this.

Calm down. Your question is ignorant and nasty, and you need to chill out and find out about what's going on before you start running off at the keyboard about something you know nothing about.

The space shuttle is fine. Mission Control made the right decision. Just cool it.

Try putting your ear to your girlfriend's bellybutton and see if you can hear the ocean. Then you will be enlightened and serene.
