Right now I would say no. You may get close to the northern fringes of the storm but the effects would be minor. Pay attention for any track changes to the north but right now there is no indication of this happening.

You live North of me ( i am in Cleveland Texas). Even if Houston and Galveston took a direct hit it would be just wind and rain Tropical storm force wind at best. What you need to look for is tornadoes. I'm not sure how common they are in Victoria but here in Liberty County we hear sirens all the time. Good luck and stay safe!

The "projected" path, NNW, is Texas, but it's too soon to know. It hasn't entered the Gulf yet.
We know how unpredictable hurricanes are. We should have a better idea in a day or two.
I had heard once that Texas has never had a hurricane before September. Don't know if that's true.

Houston here.

I heard Brownsville Tx might be the target, or Northern Mexico. But you can never be too certain of where its going to go.

I hope that the Houston area doesn't go through like when Rita in 2005.

That is the same thing i am worried about. I am currently in Lubbock Texas Visiting family. I am scheduled to leave back to Houston tomorrow, but i am not sure if should just stay here to see what happens. Even if we don't get hit we will get rain!!!! So i guess we can just pray and hope for the best.
