I asked a question before because I was smelling a weird burning smell... I now know that it was some weird smell from the pants that I had bought a day earlier, and hadn't washed before wearing. Well, I immediatley changed and washed the jeans along with all of the other new clothes I hadn't worn yet. When I took them out of the wash, all of the clothes smelled like that. I tried spraying ferbreze on them, but if that doens't work, should I go to PacSun (where i got the jeans) and demand that they buy me a new wardrobe that DOESN'T give me an allergic reaction? (i got allergies from whatever the smell was)

i hadn't even put them in the dryer yet when they stared to smell. And I washed them a few times and LINE dryed them... didn't want to get the dryer smelly.

Sure, demand an exchange and bring your receipt. Let them know you aren't satisfied and go somewhere else for clothes. Hope it works out for you.

You're not kidding...probably another crappy product from good old China-ville.

My guess is whatever the fabric was, was coated with some kind of petroleum product to keep the fabric stiff...God only knows what. Do complain to the store, and find out where they get that stuff shipped in from, exactly the name of the company if you can, and file a complain with the Ministry of Consumer and Commercial Relations if you are in Canada...you must have something similar in the USA although from all I am learning about the US I wouldn't be surprised if you didnt.

Always look at the label, and SMELL your clothes before buying.

Most Jeans etc. are made in third world countries and you won't believe how many chemicals they are put through to "distress" them...they are literally beaten dunked in chemicals, beaten again to get that worn ripped look and processed over 30 times in most cases...and $15 worth of fabric you pay a minimum of $100 for in the stores.

ALWAYS wash your clothes before wearing them, in a good detergent and warm water.

NEVER buy products that have "unknown materials" in them...God only knows what's in those.

If you are very sure it was the pants, Then write a letter to the chain president. But be certain that the pants were supposed to go in the dryer. Some clothes that were meant to be cleaned, cannot tolerate the high heat of the dryer, producing a chemical change. Goodluck.

yes. do all you can . if you have bad clothes other people do too.
it may be the dye they used in the material. the best thing is seeing your Dr, and getting a report from him. you have allergies from the clothing. and check the clothes that are or were next to the others you just bought. smell them for any bad smells . using vinegar to wash them would have helped but since you don't want to wear them now, take them back and be firm about it. the company will try to tell you things and that they will not refund your money. but with a DR.s report they may have too.
