A hook up refers to a person making an approach to get acquainted with another person, usually of the opposite sex. Often it is used with a negative connotation or used as of a colloquial phrase.
It need not suggest sexual activities, can purely be conversational and getting to know another person.

Hook ups today are basically people getting together for casual non-committal sex. Either can bring other to their place. Just about anywhere it seems nowadays people are looking to hook up. Majority of time it is teenagers using hooking up as a means of not committing but there are also many people now in their 30's, 40's and 50's looking for this type of relationship sadly also.

Hook up usually means getting together to have sex or just make out.
Usually the guy brings the girl home, but it can work both ways.
College or a bar/night club
Young people or old desperate people.

it usually for s*x and many times the person is married so be very careful...think seriously....always talk on the phone first and meet in daylight or in a well lit place if youre a girl
