Why did he lose focus on the real enemy?

This is simple. Soon as the hunt for Bin Laden transformed itself from a political asset to a liability, it became unimportant. Bin Laden suited the Bush administration’s purpose in that it was so easy, due to the events of 9/11, to attribute our global problems to one man and the organization that he helmed. This was a simple answer that the administration knew the credulous American public would buy easily. Forget our unfair foreign policies, or our propping up regimes in the Muslim world that the majority of the Muslims despised - it was all about Bin Laden.

When Bin Laden eluded capture, in order to save face, Bush and his PR campaign relegated Bin Laden to a triviality. Now that the situation in Iraq has gone awry, I really would like to see how they dismiss it. Maybe they will start focusing on Iran. Oops…I think that is already happening.

I believe Bin Laden is dead and I think our government is well aware of that. That person in the tape released just before the 2004 election was not Bin Laden. 911 was just the perfect excuse to invade Iraq. Bush talked about taking out Saddam Hussein before he was elected the first time.

Because he's been doing deals with him on the side.. this was all a ploy for... Osama Bin Laden's face was blasted through every news channel.. now we don't hear or see of him ever... Track his money.. it leads back to Texas... Don't you think after fighting with two countries... killing over 500,000 people.. going into trillions of dollars in debt we would find him by now...... But nooooooooo Bush has his own company with Osama's brother Salem??

When he started doling out contracts to his buddies. The whole Bin Laden thing sounds like a front because I simply cannot believe that with all the resources funneled into the war effort, the technology, the manpower, the USA has been incapable of finding one guy, especially one sick guy, because he is supposed to require dialisis, unless of course, Mr. Bush also helped him get a new kidney, or why not, a pair of them.

You want my opinion? I think he wanted Iraq before he even was elected. I would almost bet that the only reason he ran for president was to go after Saddam. All he was waiting for was an excuse.

Now I fear he is playing the same game with Iran. Except we couldn't afford boots on the ground, so hello air-strike city.

Then the war that may end all other wars breaks out.

Bin Laden was just a little distraction he used to keep Americans occupied with fighting evil, and prepping us for Iraq.

I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."

"I am truly not that concerned about him."

LOL, Bin Laden attacked America all by his lonesome, did he? Please tell me you are not so naive to think that if Old Bin was dead, there would not be another to replace his legacy? Man, these murderers HATE us. When will you get a clue?

As to your actual question, Chi Guy, if you were better informed, you would know this...Bill Clinton refused to hand over the keys to the executive offices of the FBI, and CIA to George Bush Jr. when he won his election, which he should have done, as a major priority for the safety of America, and so the next president, can have knowledge prior to taking office, of information VITAL to America! I guess Bill wanted to be an azz. He put America in danger, by not releasing those keys, so Mr. Bush, Condoleeza Rice, etc. could have time to know wtf was going on concerning terrorism. Apparently, Bill didn't give a crud, he let us be terrorized so many times, and did nothing!

Right away.

Bush has trouble pronouncing "Bin Laden"' but he can pronounce "Iraq" so that became the main target.

When he realized he couldn't get him. When he realized he let him walk.Instead of having to admit he made a mistake(to say it friendly) he changed the story to where Osama isn't important anymore, the line is that it's not about one man but about the organisation.Sounds kind of logical doesn't it but compare that to the euphoria when they capture the second guy of alquaida ... for the seventh time.
