As a Marine in the context once a Marine always a Marine MArine 1 , the presidentual helocopter was likly bad duty in the Clinton era. I mean they dont desoirve the greeting which is what a salute is, even though you are slauting the rank or office not the man, and maybe they were afraid of getting the one finger salute!

I never heard that, have a link to the story or the info?
If it is true it was probably because he did not want to be reminded of the fact he was raping and pillaging the Military like a drunk sorority girl.
Petey: actually yes the marines and the army guard the president as well as the secret service. you see the marines guarding Marine 1 (the helicopter) when the president uses it. And the President is often guarded by US Army Honor Guard.

I like your question! I've always wondered why this was too. A number of them were retired high ranking servicemen of which 12 of them died under somewhat mysterious means. Wonder if there is a connection?

I'm sure they would've preferred them in 'butler attire' (although "BJ" probably preferred a 'french maid' outfit). One of the most telling stories (and missed opportunity for any would-be assassin) is when Frau Hillary ordered a secret service officer to carry her bags. When he tried to explain he was unable to do so--as he needed his hands free "in case"--she told him, "If you want to stay on this F'ing detail, you will pick up those F'ing bags right F'ing now."
Nice way to speak to the man to whom your life is entrusted, hey?

Clinton said he "loathed" the military and thus is another reason why he gutted the military.

I'm sure he had his reasons. Perhaps it was to prevent those who might have sought to do him harm from knowing who was protecting him.

Once again, another question that proves those on the Rabid Right must invent their own reality in order to make a point.
