What I want to know, since this country is so bi-partisan (which is a fallacy in itself thanks to the Ancient Greeks) why do both Democrats and Republicans, who do not trust the government, actually think that the Freedom of Information Act is useful? I mean, if the current government is breaking all of these laws, what makes you think they will follow that one? Furthermore, what makes you think they will actually release the REAL documents they use, don't you realize that declassifying classified documents is a joke? Whose to say there aren't actually real documents they are keeping from us that will never become released from secrecy, that if do, that person and his whole family is killed Mafia-style, as well as his friends and everyone else known to him? This is coming from someone who's worked in the government sector and raised by people who work in the government sector.

Take it from an American-born citizen (white, middle-class): You are all sheep being played. Have a nice day.

It is not just the Feds. In Ca. we have the Brown Act, that regulate the dissemination of what should be and is public information. It also regulates how open, public meetings are conducted. It makes it a misdemeanor for City Councils and County and State government not to divulge what has gone on in closed sessions except in the case of employee relationships. Here's the rub. People up and down the State are going to court everyday facing misdemeanor charges. Their lives, guilty or innocent are turned upside down. The misdemeanor in the Brown Act is one with no consequences. The D.A. will just send the politicians a "No No" letter.

We also have the Open Records Act that requires that public records be made public. The voters of Ca. voted on it and it passed, becoming law the second the last vote was counted. It is near impossible to get the local governments to abide by it. Especially if it has anything to do with the course that the Redevelopment Agencies money takes. Redevelopment is the largest rip off of property taxes that should go for the services you mention in your question. Politicians make the laws. They are not going to make laws that hold them accountable and if they do it is near impossible to get them to obey the law without having to hire lawyers.

Certain things do have paper trails, but you are correct - they've gotten smarter about covering their tracks and you'll never find the "smoking guns" from FOIA requests.

Wouldn't matter either way, however, because the American public is so brainwashed and retarded that the government could do anything they want, tell them the truth about it, and the people would just go on with their lives in apathy as if everything is normal.

Non-partisan skill not biased by skill of any of the events. interior the country, it frequently skill neither Republican nor Democrat. you could nonetheless belong to a occasion yet can nonetheless have non-partisan place on specific subject concerns. The message on your answering gadget is possibly their portraying themselves as intense high quality human beings and urging you to vote your ethical sense quite than any specific occasion hype. To me it appears that evidently variety of deceptive simply by fact in the event that they are Obama supporters, of their heart they want you to vote for Obama, yet on the exterior they are asserting which you're able to vote non-partisan. properly, politics is unusual.

If nothing else, the freedom of information act saves trees. It motivates the government not to leave a paper trail, thus using less paper.
