I've often wondered about that...

Love is like glue that holds you together... Some glues are stronger than others. And if you try to pull two things that are glued together apart... sooner or later either the glue will break... or one of the things will!!

The strength of the fix is entirely dependant on how much care and attention were put into making the original bond, and how long they have been stuck together.

Some Bond's will weaken again if the correct heat or liquid are applied, these can be as strong, if not stronger, than before if allowed to cool / dry out. But if you force them apart without enough thought... they will never go together as smoothly again in the future.

To make sense of all this analogy...

Some relationships break up when SHE starts squeezing the toothpaste in the middle and HE keeps leaving up the darn loo seat. In this case... more care should have been taken in understanding the materials before the bond was made.

Some can weaken but withstand a torrid affair (A lot of heat) where others will simply fall apart at the slightest application of warmth "You were looking at her BUM!"... But pull them apart ("We need a break!") and the glue will cool and a whole new layer will be needed to put them back together. And the old stuff can never really be scraped off.

One couple might easily cope with a sexual problem but fall apart at the first financial crisis. Check the integrity of the materials before bonding.

Some may appear to bond well but then break up in the correct stress. (He wants Kids, she never did).

In short... I think... "Love conquers All!" is a romantic ideal born in an age when the "All" options were far fewer and most people had similar, simpler goals in life.

And we weren't all so damn money grabbing and selfish too.

That said, find the right love with the right partner... yeah. I think it can work through a LOT more **** than your average soap opera gives it credit for.
