You can make a decent living working as a zoologist..it depends on the degree you have, and who you work for. Not sure exactly what you want to do with your degree..research, work in a zoo, for a university, work for the government, for a non-profit...etc. All will range greatly in pay scale. Usually the higher the degree the more you make..but this is not ALWAYS necessarily true. Most people go into zoology because of their love for animals not for the money they will make.

zoology does not pay well. Sorry but you need to decide which is more important, money or satisfaction.

To be a zoologist you need to feel that it is something you really have to do. Otherwise find something that pays better. There are more people who want to be zoologists and have zoology majors then there are jobs to fill. Be aware of this.

dude i just answered the same question right now i mean not the same question in words but the question that has the same answer. Actually the fact is we go to jobs that pay us more but if the job is boring then u r doomed. I have a brother actually a cousin brother who studied nursing. He was forced by his parents to study nursing he liked to be a Engineer but his parents said to him that if u become a nurse u will get a lot of money. He agreed because he heard that he will get a lot of money and he studied and became a doctor then after a few years he got bored with his job and he did n't wanted to work any more he was tired and he was feeling uncomfortable and it was a big mistake he made then he went to a collage again and completed his engineering course and now he is a enginner and one of the best.
SO, the fact is that u should choose a job that u like not the one that pays more or some career that is been forced by ur family.

Zoology is a field that you go into because you love what you do, not to make money. If you get a PhD you may be able to get a job in a university and make a decent living. Overall choose something you love to do, and don't get too specialized. Those people who have many skills will never have a problem making a living.

To be a zoologist, you have to be able to handle animals with care. I had a student who would see a wounded dog in my compound and take it to a Vet hospital to cure it and bunk my class. Today she has become a Vet doctor. If you join some animal activist groups this line will be surely paying. In return our environment can be saved from eliminating animals which help in saving our environment cycle.
