Poetry is collection personal thoughts, memories,observations, reasoning, a song , introspective , random , meaningful, funny, creative words and verses. It's all up to the writer.

Poetry is about expressing yourself.
I am so tired of hearing people say that a poem is "depressing"
Do they not get the whole point of poetry?
It really does annoy me.
Life is full of ups and downs so why not write about the bad times?
To all you poets out there who like to really exress yourselves.
Never stop writing just because some clueless person tries to put you down.
They do not know what they re talking about.
There now I have got that off my chest I feel better.
Phew.

I see poetry in verses where I get transported into the writers enigma, his lament , in which his emotional state and the tears of his soul can be felt, even as he writes.
The power of the pen has been felt by readers for a long time, ever since man had learned to put his ideas and his thoughts on paper.
Most of the time, the writer is so engrossed that he is unaware that he has drawn his reader to feel what he feels.
Sometimes, the writer is so adept in arranging his thoughts.
Literature has crossed the boundaries of wealth, physical stature, power, racial divides, and location. If you have the muse, develop it.
It is a gift.

Poetry for me is a way to express what my heart feels, all the emotions that I go through in my life whether is love, hate, sadness, etc. Is my art, my way to let the people know who am I.
